Reed Pleased to Survive Yoshida
Southampton vice president Les Reed admits he is happy to see Maya Yoshida pressing a new contract with the club.
The Japanese player signed a three-year contract with the club, and Reed publicly praised the performance displayed by the 29-year-old.
“We are very happy, because we can reach an agreement with Maya. He is a vital player for our squad, whether inside or outside the field. ”
“During his career with us, Maya is one of the players who managed to take a long stride in the game. It was apparent last season, he managed a great deal with Virgil Van Dijk and Jack Stephens, and helped the team qualify for the final EFL. ”
“Maya is a great professional example to imitate, and it’s important for us to be able to extend our commitment with him.”
“We are now very excited, with the level of depth we have in the squad center back position. New contract signed by Maya, will strengthen our team further, for the coming seasons. “
